He called for greater scrutiny in imports to avoid unnecessary costs and warned that uncontrolled imports harm both producers and the national economy, requiring unified support to resolve import-related challenges.

According to a Mehr News Agency reporter, Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini stated on Thursday afternoon during a meeting of the Economic Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly with economic activists of Semnan province, hosted by the Semnan Chamber of Commerce, that the country’s economic policy approach is fundamentally based on supporting production and producers.

He added that to achieve the aforementioned goal, greater sensitivity must be considered in imports, and imposing additional costs in this regard should be avoided.

The Secretary of the Parliament’s Economic Commission, emphasizing that uncontrolled imports not only harm producers but also damage the national economy, stated that in this regard, the support of all groups is essential to resolve existing knots in the import sector.

Hosseini announced the approval of a customs agreement in the Parliament’s Economic Commission and stressed that exporters of goods must also carefully adhere to its provisions.

He added that it is expected that with the convergence of all sectors, we will witness an improvement in the economic conditions of society, because solving economic challenges will not be possible without the cooperation of other sectors.
