Yazd province, a major industrial hub in Iran, has reported a substantial increase in exports during the first half of 2023. According to Mohammad Kazem Sadeqian, Director General of Industries, Mining, and Trade of Yazd Province, the province exported over 1.279 million tons of goods worth $226 million during this period.
“A wide range of products were exported, including non-metallic mineral products, metallic mineral products, chemicals, petroleum oils, and polymer products,” Sadeqian said.
The top ten export destinations for goods from Yazd province were Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Georgia.
While exports surged, imports to Yazd province amounted to $147 million worth of goods, totaling 56,000 tons. Major imported goods included machinery, components, electrical and electronic equipment, chemicals, and cellulose and polymer products.
