The expert opinion of the Food and Drug Administration should be considered in imports.

According to the Mehr News Agency, quoting Ifdana, Abdolazim Behfar, at the closing ceremony of the conference of food and beverage supervision managers of the country, emphasized the need to enhance national synergy in the field of food safety, and added: With the establishment of an integrated monitoring structure, it is possible to continuously monitor food products from the point of production to the level of supply and importation.

He continued: Alongside direct supervision of priority goods, other products are evaluated by the technical officials of the units, and their reports are sent to the Food and Drug Organization so that corrective actions and necessary warnings can be issued if necessary.

Behfar stated: Coordination with economic organizations to consider health considerations in imports is an important step in protecting public health. We expect that even in cases where consultation with the Ministry of Health is not mandatory, the expert opinion of this ministry will be taken into consideration.

The Director General of Food and Beverage Products also, referring to the celebration of World Food Safety Day in June, said: This event is a valuable opportunity to strengthen interaction between regulatory bodies and exchange international experiences in the way of promoting the country’s food safety system.
