According to Mehr News Agency, Mohammad Ali Talebi, in a meeting with members of the Kerman Province Exporters Association, referring to the identification of export-oriented investment opportunities in the province, said that Kerman Province, in the field of small and medium industries, despite its capacities, has performed very weakly.
He emphasized that the solution to this issue is the identification of investment opportunities and added that government support should focus on infrastructure sectors and the provision of facilities to achieve good outcomes.
The governor of Kerman stated: As an example, Kerman Province ranks first in the country’s date production, but the peak of processing this product is in packaging units or making paste with not very advanced technologies, while dozens of date processing factories can be established in the province.
Talebi clarified: The products resulting from pistachio processing are also among the items that Kerman Province can abundantly enter into and create added value.
He said: Kerman Province, in the industrial sector, has been a consumer of downstream petrochemical products and has the advantage of being close to export markets, but in the field of petrochemicals and its downstream industries, which are considered an export advantage, nothing has been done in Kerman.
Talebi asked exporters to present their strategies and proposals for investment opportunities and said: The Provincial Export Development Commission should be continuously formed, and relevant discussions should be raised and reviewed by representatives of exporters and agencies.
He added: In the Supervisory Bodies Council, we can also raise the issues to address the existing problems and obstacles with the interactive environment that has been created in the province.
The governor of Kerman emphasized introducing the province’s investment opportunities through domestic and international exhibitions and said: We have formed the Kerman Provincial Investment Security Committee at the highest level, and it reviews all relevant issues and matters.
The governor of Kerman said: To meet the import needs of Kerman Province by Kermani companies and the Kerman market, special investments should be made, and it makes no sense to meet these needs from other provinces.
