According to the Mehr News Agency, Farood Asgari, the Head of Iran Customs, stated: Iran’s non-oil exports in the first two months of the current year amounted to 24 million and 622 thousand tons, valued at 8 billion and 241 million dollars. Compared to the same period last year, the weight of these exported goods increased by 4.4% and decreased by 0.11% in terms of value.
According to the announcement from Iran Customs, Asgari stated the average customs value of each ton of exported goods during this period was 335 dollars, which is 4.3% less than the same period last year.
He said that during this period, 5 million and 718 thousand tons of petrochemical goods valued at 2 billion and 217 million dollars were exported, showing an increase of 4% in weight and 3% in value.
5 Major Non-Oil Export Items
Regarding the major non-oil export items in the first two months of the year 1404, Asgari stated: The 5 major non-oil export items during this period were liquid propane with 643 million dollars, natural gas with 455 million dollars, liquid butane with 452 million dollars, petroleum bitumen with 419 million dollars, and methanol with 388 million dollars.
He said that China, with 2 billion and 425 million dollars, Iraq with 1 billion and 500 million dollars, United Arab Emirates with 1 billion and 94 million dollars, Turkey with 673 million dollars, Afghanistan with 374 million dollars, Pakistan with 322 million dollars, and Oman with 305 million dollars, were the 7 major destinations for our country’s non-oil exports in the first two months of the current year.
8.4 Billion Dollar Imports
The Deputy Minister of Economy also added regarding the amount of imports in the first two months of the current year: During this period, 5 million and 921 thousand tons of goods valued at 8 billion and 471 million dollars were imported into the country, with an increase of 1.16% in weight and a decrease of 7.8% in value.
Asgari continued: The average customs value of every ton of imported goods was 1431 dollars, showing a 9% decrease compared to the same period last year.
5 Major Import Items
He said the major import items in the first two months of the current year included raw gold worth 860 million dollars, livestock corn 657 million dollars, rice 289 million dollars, sunflower seed oil 215 million dollars, and soybean seeds 211 million dollars.
The Head of Iran Customs stated: The major countries dealing with Iran’s imports in the first two months of the year 1404 included United Arab Emirates with 2 billion and 596 million dollars, China with 2 billion and 206 million dollars, Turkey with 1 billion and 367 million dollars, Germany with 308 million dollars, India with 291 million dollars, Netherlands with 215 million dollars, and Switzerland with 190 million dollars.
