According to Mehr News Agency, Seyed Hassan Bazazzadeh, referring to the diverse agricultural capacities of this province, stated: About 15% of the province’s workers are active in the agricultural sector, and this sector accounts for 9% of the province’s gross production.

He stated that 93,000 hectares of agricultural lands in Yazd are under horticultural cultivation and added: Pistachios, pomegranates, apricots, grapes, and other horticultural products are among the province’s significant productions, part of which is exported to Eurasian Union member countries.

Bazazzadeh announced the signing of an agricultural cooperation memorandum between Yazd province and the city of Turfan in the Xinjiang province of China, and said: The climatic similarity between these two regions and the Chinese party’s desire to expand trade relations has prepared the ground for this cooperation.

He added: As part of this memorandum, bilateral cooperation in the field of raisin export, tilapia farming, and provision of inputs using China’s technical knowledge and the experience of seasoned Yazdi farmers will be pursued.

Bazazzadeh expressed hope at the end that this international interaction will lead to the prosperity of the farmers’ market and increase the exports of Yazd province.
