According to Mehr News Agency, in the first five months of this year, the total unloading operations of various goods at Imam Khomeini Port Complex exceeded 8 million and 280 thousand tons, indicating an 8% growth compared to the same period last year. These goods included essential items, minerals, chemicals, metals, wood and boards, machinery, and petroleum materials.
Based on this report, the unloading of essential goods during this period reached over 7 million and 112 thousand tons. Additionally, the unloading and loading of container goods, with a record of 37,149 TEU, experienced a 7% growth compared to the same period last year.
In another part of the statistics, the unloading and loading of mineral, construction, and chemical goods reached approximately 3 million and 700 thousand tons with a 6% growth, and general goods also increased by 1.5% to 859,426 tons.
Imam Khomeini Port Complex, with 73% of the country’s essential goods transportation share, has once again proven its pivotal role in meeting strategic needs and supporting the country’s maritime trade.
